HSW1004 – Occupational Health & Safety Committee Awareness (2 Days)

OVERVIEW

Employers substantially contribute to the compliance of safety and health regulations at the workplace and to achieving safety and health objectives. In order to ensure effective implementation and compliance they have to be aware of recognized safety standards, and the ability to identify unsafe and unhealthy situations. We believe that training the management and staff is a primary factor in achieving a safe, healthy and secure workplace. Such training should enable the management to understand the relevant safety and health acts and regulations and to identify mechanisms to identify eliminate identified hazards. With such knowledge and information also comes the ability to interact with the employees and Safety & Health Committee that exists at the workplace.

By the end of the program, participants should be able to:

  • Understand what is occupational health & safety
  • Understand the importance of occupational health & safety at the workplace
  • Understand management roles, responsibilities, and benefits of OH&S at the workplace
  • Understand the relevant OSH regulations
  • Understand the functions and responsibilities of the safety and health committee
  • Conduct effective safety and health committee meeting
  • Typically spans 2 days (9am to 5pm).
  • Nonetheless, we can customize both the program’s duration and schedule to cater to unique client requirements (e.g., compact 1-day workshops or extended sessions beyond 3 days).
