OVERVIEW
The program consists of two classroom modules of three days residential per module, a total of six days instruction. A teleconference coaching session is undertaken midway between each module to provide access to the course facilitator for coaching purposes and to provide formal feedback on progress. The course finalizes with a Presentation Day to senior management where participants present their Workplace Project for evaluation. Each module is separated by approximately 4-6 weeks. Between each module and post completion of both modules, participants are required to complete their brief workplace assignments as a requisite of the course. Each participant is observed by their reporting manager (who acts as a coach) in their workplace. At times the Coach is required to observe the course participant demonstrating specific competencies. Defined competency attainment is recorded and co-signed by Participant and Coach as part of Workplace assignment completion. The distributed learning* nature of the course allows for the learned theory and skills to be practiced and integrated within the workplace. For real learning* to occur, there needs to be a time period for maturation of knowledge application and skill development. Over the total length of the course the participants are required to propose, plan, initiate, manage and deliver a Workplace Project. This project, along with a Leadership Statement*, is presented to the SGS Senior Management* team at a prescribed date after the course. Each Participant must demonstrate the management competencies as prescribed by the SGS Manager’s Passport model to be awarded the SGS Certificate of Completion – Managing People and Performance.
After attending this programme the participants are expected to learn and apply:
